Regional Meet Bids for Level 8-10 Regionals, April 17-19, 2009

State Meet 09 Bids

I am also taking bids for the Spring State Meet – The weekend is March 27th- 29th-
This year Spring State Meet will be in the North.

Bids are due by October 1st 2008.
If no bids are received by this time, the board will vote on moving the meet to the south, so please! North teams bid away!!!

Date for “Fall State Judges Cup”

We have set the date for the 2008 State Judge's Championships. 
It will be held on November 15 and 16, 2008, in Las Vegas. 
Team Las Vegas will again be hosting the meet at the Fern Adair Conservatory of the Arts.  Look for more information in your mail in August.

Prep Opt Clinic and Congress Presentation
Below is a note about a Prep-Optional Clinic that we will be having on August 2nd.  The clinic will be held by the Prep Opt Board Representative for Nevada- Cassie Rice.  Cassie will also be doing a presentation about the Prep Opt program at Region 1 Congress this year.

Dear Nevada coaches and judges,
       
I have been given the privilege of doing a prep-optional presentation at the Region 1 clinic August 22nd in Santa Clara, CA this year.   In preparation of this and in order to get our entire region on the same page, I wanted to do a clinic and brainstorming session for our area.   I would love you to come and bring some of your work-in progress routines/kids for the 2 proposed levels!

Goals of the clinic:
·       Have various clubs perform routines for scoring and evaluation of rules
·       Discuss and implement rule ideas for the levels and # of levels…
·       Have judges give ideas to coaches based on the routines performed or suggest rule changes to make things more fair.
·       Have coaches discuss ideas and implementation of the program for our state/region – ways to help the success of the program.
The clinic is from 2:00- 4:30ish on Sat. August 2nd.   We would be going over just bars/beam and floor – no vault is necessary as this is going to be similar to our vaults in levels 3, 4, 5 6 and 7.
All coaches/gymnasts (gymnasts just need a waiver filled out by a parent) can attend free of charge and judges who take part in the clinic I am offering a $75 check  each for attending and giving their input.   I need a head count for all those attending, so please let me know how many coaches/judges or kids you will be bringing.

We need more options for kids in today’s busy world.
I hope we all can be part of launching the beginning of a program our sport so desperately needs.

Region 1 Clinics

Below is the link for the Region 1 Clinics this year.  1 has already passed, but there are 2 more to attend this year.
These clinics are great to participate in, not only because of the great experience, fun and learning opportunity for kids, coaches and judges, but also for the perks!
If any of your athletes attend these clinics and you have any of your level 10s qualify to JO Nationals- their apparel package is paid for along with the coaches apparel!  This is normally around a $450 value in total- and the apparel packages are great!  Click the link below for more information on these clinics!
